Founded in 2014, Netlify pioneered the idea of deploying entire websites from a Git push without managing servers, and its model has since been widely adopted by competitors. It's the deployment platform behind millions of Next.js, Gatsby, Nuxt, Hugo, and other framework-built sites. Sites hosted on Netlify are identifiable through the x-nf-request-id header present on all responses, server: Netlify in HTTP headers, and the *.netlify.app subdomain that remains accessible even when custom domains are configured.
